Students age 10 - 17 are invited to audition for a summer
musical theater workshop. We are looking for "triple threat performers" who
can sing, act, and dance. Only a limited number of performers will be accepted
into the program. During the two-week camp, students will put together an intense
Broadway style musical review and perform it for one night only on June 27 at 8:00
pm. Once the summer workshop is over, the performers will automatically become a
part of "Headliners" the official performance ambassadors of San Pedro Playhouse.
HEADLINERS will go out into the community to help spread the word about San Pedro
Playhouse and its wonderful, upcoming 2008-2009 Season.

Meet the Directors
|
Andrew Hendley (Music Director) has been teaching middle school choir for
the past eleven years. He graduated from Trinity University with a Bachelors in
Music and a Master of Arts in teaching. While teaching in NEISD after graduating,
Hendley sang with the San Antonio Symphony Mastersingers. He then relocated to Las
Vegas, where he continued to teach and joined the UNLV Chamber Chorale, which performed
at the MGM Grand Garden with the Boston Pops Symphony Orchestra as well as the Chapman
University Choral Festival. Hendley was the Choir Director at Woodlake Hills for
six years. He now teaches elementary-level music in Judson ISD. He was a section
leader and soloist of the St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Parish Choir and has been
playing in the orchestra for the San Pedro Playhouse for the past four years. At
the Playhouse, he has been the Musical Director for CABARET, THE MIKADO, and FOOTLOOSE.
Christopher Rodriguez (Director/Choreographer) has been performing on stage
at the San Pedro Playhouse for over six years in various productions and now is
also on staff here working in the box office. He graduated from the North East School
of the Arts in 2001 where he majored in musical theater and was a musical theater/dance
major at Sam Houston State University. In his spare time he has choreographed for
various high school choirs and theater programs in the North East Independent School
District. His favorite roles at the Playhouse have included Lefou in BEAUTY AND
THE BEAST, Bobby in CABARET, Baby John in WEST SIDE STORY, Mark in A CHORUS LINE,
and most recently as Tulsa in GYPSY. Credits elsewhere include OKLAHOMA (Sam Houston
State University), DIVINERS, THE SHADOW BOX, THE MIRACLE WORKER, and WHEN PIGS FLY
(Actors Theater of San Antonio).
Amy Suzanne Dullnig (Administrator/Assistant Director) has been involved
with the San Pedro Playhouse for thirteen years. She has been in several Playhouse
producitions over the years, including: ANNIE WARBUCKS (Tessie), THE WIZARD OF OZ
(1997), THE KING AND I, MY FAIR LADY, SOUTH PACIFIC, and SCROOGE. She has been a
very active participant in the children's program over the years. Credits elsewhere
include THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN (Josephine Theatre) and I REMEMBER MAMA (Christine)
and THE MUSIC MAN (St. Andrew's Players). She graduated from Texas Christian University
in May 2005 with a BFA in theatre performance. She is currently attending University
of Incarnate Word as a graduate student, earning her Masters in theatre education.
At TCU she worked technical crew on several productions and directed the ten-minute
play SLOP-CULTURE. She has sung at Carnegie Hall with Skitch Henderson and the New
York Pops twice with the TCU choir: A Tribute to Rogers and Hammerstein in April
2002 and a Christmas concert in 2003. This past summer she was in charge of the
Troupe's Summer Camp Program and is currently working part-time at the Playhouse.
Frank Latson (Program Director), the Artistic Director of the San Pedro Playhouse
Pedro Playhouse, is originally from Amarillo, Texas. Latson began performing at
the age of three, and has been involved in some phase of theatre production ever
since. Latson worked professionally in New York as an actor and director for 22
years, during which time he was a founding member of The Apple Corps Theatre, assisted
on several Broadway productions, directed Off-Broadway, Off-off Broadway, Regionally,
and in Stock, and earned his MFA in Arts Management from Brooklyn College. He also
managed the prettiest boutique cowboy boot store in Manhattan, partner Al Martinez’
Pop Cowboy and served as Assistant to the Executive Director and Contract Administrator
for the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, the Professional Union of
which Latson remains an active member. In 1997, Latson was brought to Sonora, California
as Development Director of the Sierra Repertory Theatre, and became its Artistic
Director shortly thereafter, serving through the end of the 2001 season. He was
lured away from SRT to the position of Director of Entertainment Development for
American Classic Voyages ten days before the company sank into Bankruptcy, and managed
to swim ashore in Dallas. Freelancing from his Dallas base, Latson subsequently
worked on both coasts, directing for the Dorset Theatre Festival, Playhouse Merced,
Sierra Repertory Theatre, Oldcastle Theatre Company, and creating a new musical
revue for Disney Live Family Entertainment. He is thrilled to have found a new Artistic
Home in the San Pedro Playhouse, and is looking forward to a long and exciting run.
